Hutt Valley Riding for the Disabled
Hutt Valley Riding for the Disabled provides therapeutic riding programmes for people in the Hutt Valley with physical, emotional and social challenges, to foster increased ability, independence and self-esteem. We make an important contribution to their development and improving the quality of their lives. The riding sessions are designed to encourage the attainment of specific skills and abilities based on the rider's needs with each individual working to achieve their own personal goals. Ride more riders, change more lives.

Volunteers WantedWe have lots of jobs that our volunteers can do. Our two main roles are working with the horses and working with the riders. HVRDA recruits and inducts all new volunteers. Each volunteer is needed for one day a week, for 4 hours a day. While this can be the same day each week, this can vary depending on availability. Our volunteers work closely together and form wonderful friendships with each other and a unique and satisfying relations with our riders. The joy of seeing a rider achieve even a simple task is heart warming
